The Effect of the Nurses¡¯ Identification Perceived by Nursing Students on the Nursing Professionalism

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of nurses¡¯ identification perceived by nursing students on the nursing professionalism. A convenience sample of 336 subjects were recruited from two nursing schools. For data analysis, SPSS 21.0 program was used. The mean score of image of nurse, image of nurses in mess media, nursing professionalism were 3.93, 3.75 and 3.81, respectively. Nursing professionalism was showed a positive corelation with image of nurse and image of nurses in mess media. Factors that affect nursing professionalism was image of nurse, image of nurse in mess media and dissatisfaction in major. The explanation power of nursing professionalism was 68.5%. Therefore, it is necessary to develop an effective intervention program to improve nursing students¡¯s satisfaction in major and positive nurses¡¯ image.
